BREAKFAST LIKE A KING, LUNCH LIKE A PRINCE, DINE LIKE A PAUPER
That's an ancient proverb most people are familiar with, but how many people especially those with gluten intolerance follow it. For many breakfast involves the usual overpriced, unadventurous cereals.
So how about trying something substantial,filling and healthy.
A Gluten free porridge dish made interesting:
Spiced Oat Porridge
50 g gluten free oats
125 ml water
125ml semi skimmed milk
1 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tbs of assortment of seeds & nuts ( in this case pumpkin,sunflower,sesame seeds, walnuts,pine kernels,flaked almonds& sultanas
drizzle of golden syrup, honey or maple syrup
place the oats and liquids into a small non stick saucepan and bring to the boil.
reduce heat to low and simmer for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring frequently until reaching a preferred thicker consistency .
Spoon into a bowl an sprinke on top the cinnamon, followed by the nuts and seeds.
drizzle with syrup to taste
